  The minimally access courses at the University of Athens continue successfully for the fifth year. These courses are accredited by the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES). A member of the Educational Committee of the EAES will be the guest expert faculty, in addition to the local faculty. The courses are organized by the Laparo-endoscopic Unit, First Department of Propedeutic Surgery, University of Athens in collaboration with the Center for Experimental Surgery, Foundation for Biomedical Research, Academy of Athens and the Experimental and Research Unit, ELPEN SA.

The courses are targeted to surgeons and senior trainees who have previous experience in laparoscopic surgery. The main objective is evaluation and analysis of different surgical techniques, management of complications, discussion of the technical issues that arise during the procedure and hands-on training in a large animal model. Every participant will have the opportunity to fully perform and assist in laparoscopic procedures in anesthetized swine.
